Since I came to New Zealand 14 months ago, I’ve gone back and forth grounding at a Yoga Retreat to traveling in my Sweet As Van.
There are two different parts of me that I honor in this “alternative” lifestyle...
1. Van Life Lala - wild, free spirit, adventurous, social, crazy, naughty, energetic. She follows the flow of the road, guided by intuition. No plan, no struggle, no pressure, no expectation or schedule.
2. Yoga Retreat Lauren - wise, grounded goddess, spiritual, calm, nice, loving Yoga Retreat Lauren. She has a dedicated daily routine of spiritual yogic practices. No stress, no distractions, no worry, or pain.
I used to struggle with defining, “Who am I?” Am I wild? Am I wise?” I thought I couldn’t be both because they contrast each other. But not so!
There is wisdom in the wild and wild in the wisdom.
Like being alone, naked in nature, mediating, doing yoga. The place where I feel the truth of who I am. One with all of life. Connected to my essence and the world around me. A spiritual being having a human experience. I am everything. I am free to BE whatever & whoever I want. In any moment. Constantly changing. Ever evolving.
Honoring these sides of me is honoring the duality of life. The balance of being.
I learn specific yogic practices then I get to practice them on my own.
I tune deeply within my inner world then I get to explore the outside world.
I ground into my being then I uplift others.
I slowdown in one place then I adventure everywhere.
No matter where I am in the physical world though, whether it be meditating on my breath in the yoga hall, or driving on the open road in the mountains… I am always free.
Free of the mind and everything it creates.
Free of suffering.
Free of fear.
Free of anxiety.
Free of limitations.
Free of addiction.
Free of pain.
Free of societies rules.
Free of attachment.
Free of ego.
Of course I am not perfect and still experience these things coming and going. But I have learned and gained the tools, techniques, & practices to always free myself of the MIND & BODY. To return to the truth of who I am. Which is spirit, love, divinity, god, being, energy, essence, consciousness, presence (whatever name you want to call it).
When I’m in the mind I forget my truth. I forget who I am & why I’m here.
The fun is in the remembering…
So, how do you remember?
Tuning back to the breath, the body, the senses.
Realizing you are more than those things.
Eating alive foods & water with positive intention.
Becoming what you ingest.
Surrendering to the present moment.
Accepting everything “is as it is.”
Trusting you are guided.
Noticing the synchronicities.
Knowing you are safe.
Feeling you are loved.
The freedom you seek is always within you.
Waiting for you to listen, notice, see, and feel its presence. In everything. In everyone. In every song. In every flower. In every bird.
STOP. Slow down. Tune in.
The messages are waiting for you. Spirit is calling. Are you listening?
Explore various parts of you. Embrace whatever you find. Express your truth.
I am exploring the wise and expressing the wild.
I am the wild and the wise.
I am everything.
And so it is.
